Game Off 2019 Results
Hey! I know it's been a while, but I've been pretty busy with the Holidays.
Anyway, I had some time to check out how Game Off 2019 went. Here's the results and I found Bee Flat on Page 7. I captured them below
There were 236 entries and the score was out of 5. So, overall the game was placed just below half the entries. Which, is pretty good given that the game was incomplete when I submitted it. Yeah, next time I'll try to actually submit a finished project. I might pull a No Man's Sky and complete the game, but I'll do that later. I still have Shield Bearer to finish as well. However, I want to actually start a project that isn't bound to some weird theme from a competition.
I want to build a Mega Man X fan game. I've been watching videos that JKB Games have put out on their fan game called Mega Man X: Corrupted. I'm a bit worried about that game since it runs on Flash and every browser is ditching it at the end of 2020. I want to build another game on HTML5 so I don't have to worry about Flash. I also want to try to learn and use a program called Spriter Pro. I got it three years ago as part of the Game Dev Software Bundle from Humble Bundle. I think it would be pretty cool to do a more hand drawn style for a Mega Man X game, just like how what one of the Developers for Mega Man 2.5D is doing for Mega Man Zero.
Well, a new software tool means more tutorials to watch. It seems like they use a lot of concepts that I learned using Flash MX, so I'm hoping to pick this up really fast. I hope I can share some progress with you guys soon! I also hope that I come up with a name for my Mega Man X fan game, too!
